1 Thessalonians 4:1--"Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more."
The Bible has been called, "Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth." It teaches us to live and prepares us to die. The Bible is God's word! It teaches us to much including how to walk. There have been so many times that I have forgotten these precious words. I cannot go back and fix the mistakes in my old walk, but I can change my steps moving forward. I can remember the mistakes so that I do not journey on that path again.
God's word teaches us:
1) how we ought to walk.
2) how our walk pleases God.
3) how to grow more and more in Him.
