We must be focused on the right things! This is a fact for every believer.
I think it is interesting that the focus of the apostles (the preachers of the day) is:
1) Prayer.
2) Ministry of the word.
They could do many things, but these two are the first priorities. I wonder though, why is prayer mentioned first? Is prayer more important than ministry of the word (preaching)?
I don't believe that one is more important than the other, but we must have both in our lives and especially in our preaching!
None can ministry in the word if they do not first spend time in prayer.
Today, what is your focus? Are you spending the time needed in prayer to effectively communicate God's word?
